Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) e.g. dyslexia and dyspraxia
In addition to helping neurotypical clients, I (Sally) specialise in supporting those with autism, ADHD and Specific Learning Difficulties such as dyslexia and dyspraxia. My professional life has always involved working with people with learning differences - teaching, assessing, advising and counselling - and I also have the benefit of personal experience. As a counsellor my aim is to work alongside you, drawing on my knowledge and experience but always holding a deep regard for you as a unique individual.
Counselling may help you:
- untangle complex emotions, including around a diagnosis
- manage anxiety and improve self-esteem
- explore and integrate difficult experiences
- cope with transitions and changes
- gain insight into your strengths so that these can be further developed and celebrated
- become more aware of how you experience the world in order to move forwards with renewed confidence
I also offer psychoeducation in many areas including: executive functioning; socialising and relationships; verbal and non-verbal communication; boundaries; managing the work environment; transitioning to university; and sensory issues.
